Most of Worthing u3a's members live in the coastal area of Worthing, West Sussex and activities take place in various places in and around Worthing, from Ferring to Lancing, in private homes or hired halls.

Costs:

• The Worthing u3a Membership year starts on the 1st of September and a full year’s membership currently costs £10 per person, £6 if you are a member of another u3a.
  If you join between March and June the fee is reduced to £6, £4 if you are a member of another u3a.
  If you join in July and August then the full fee of £10 (£6) is payable,  but  your fee will cover you until 31st August the following year.
  
  
• In addition each group may levy a small fee, depending on the activity; this can be as little as 50p per session for facilities and refreshments, but may be more if travel, craft materials or course booklets are involved. 
  
  
• There is a fee (payable in advance) charged for attendance in hired venues.

Membership gives access to:

• Over 75 local Study and Activity Groups
• Outings and Social events
• Monthly Talks, September through to July
• Our monthly e-Newsletter "Worthing u3a Newsletter", keeping members informed about news and events. This is sent by email.
• “u3a Matters” is the National u3a magazine  published five times a year (See below).
• Study Days
• Summer Schools
• Insurance for members when attending any of these groups

u3a MATTERS:

u3a Matters is a magazine produced by u3a National Office and sent out normally 5 times a year. It contains articles about the National u3a organisation as well as contributions from members of the individual u3as. The cost is included in your membership fee if you are a full member. On the online application form, when you set your membership type to 'Full Member', a Third Age Matters box will appear that defaults to 'No'.  If you wish to receive the magazine please select 'Yes'. If there are two or more members at the same address, you may like to have only one member receiving the magazine. 

If you are a tax payer, please consider if you can say 'Yes' to 'Gift Aid'. As a charity, this allows us to claim back the income tax on your membership fee. It provides Worthing u3a significant additional income. 

• To join online  please select either the relevant 'I Agree' button' after reading the Terms & Conditions and the GDPR Info, Privacy & Cookie Policies. You will be taken to a form to fill in your details.
  
  You can pay online using a credit or debit card by clicking on 'Pay Fee Online Now' If you wish to pay by cheque or online later click on 'Pay Fee Later and an email with details will be sent to you.

• To make a manual application read the Terms & Conditions and the GDPR Info, Privacy & Cookie Policies then download an application form here, complete it and post it to the membership secretary at the address on the application form.
  

• It now costs us 40p for each cheque that we bank, therefore if you can make payment online it would be much appreciated if you could do so.

• Renewing your membership. The Worthing u3a membership year runs 1st September to 31st August. An email will be sent reminding you to renew your membership with instructions how to pay towards the end of July. You can pay your renewal any time from then. A reminder will be sent 3 weeks later if you haven't renewed.
