Group Details For Seafront Bed No: 19

This community based project raises the profile of Worthing u3a and supports ‘Sunny Worthing’ and our Council’s aim to beautify our seafront. Volunteer supporters are drawn from local organisations, interest groups, charities, businesses, family groups, schools, etc. all coming together to plant up the prom with their individual planting schemes. After planting we need a small army of members to ensure our plot survives and thrives throughout the summer season. The Seafront is a testing environment for plants and a rota of enthusiastic members will help to ensure our bed is watered, dead headed, weeded and cleared of any other debris along the way. There is a tap close by for water supply. With sufficient members the task need not be onerous, with each member rota’d to visit maybe once a fortnight. The visits become rewarding as many passers-by stop for a chat, or with words of appreciation and encouragement.
