Group Details For Walking and Rambling

Group Description :
We are a very friendly group, offering a great chance to enjoy our beautiful Sussex countryside, get some fresh air, exercise and chat at the same time! Walks are run by different member volunteers and are usually about 4 or 5 miles long, not starting more than 20 miles away.
Where suitable, and with prior arrangement with the walk leader, well behaved dogs will be permitted on walks. The person taking the dog will be responsible for it. Final decision rests with the walk leader. An email is sent out to all walkers a couple of days before the walk with the leader's email and mobile number, start point (we always assemble at 09:45) and brief details of the walk, e.g. flat, hilly, lots of stiles etc. We walk unless the weather is very inclement. It is strongly recommended that hike boots are worn and suitable clothing for the British countryside. If you wish to join the walk (limited to 30 people per walk) you should email or text the leader of that walk to notify them you will be coming. About half the group finish the walk at a local hostelry for lunch. Here is a Link to planner which has more details. Keep on eye on it for updates.  Only Group leaders can modify the planner.

Please note that whilst the u3a does have public liability insurance for member activities, it is expected that members of this group will follow the advice/instructions of Walk Leaders to minimise risks to both themselves and others, and take responsibility for their ability to complete a walk.
